Welcome!

I'm Ken.

I am a native of Riverside, California and have lived here all my life. I started woodworking with my dad as a kid and have done bits of it here and there throughout my life. After decades in the kitchen and bath and interior design industries, I am swapping my designer's tools for those of a maker.

I have always been passionate about the environment and recycling. Seeing so much wood sent to landfills or fire pits has always pained me greatly. Trees deserve so much more respect than to meet such terrible ends. I take as much wood as possible directly from the waste stream and give it new life as useful things for the home and garden.

This is the passion and reverence for wood; the respect for grand old trees that have fallen so far that they have become “trash”. We have reached a point in time, a postmodern era, where old skills and new technology can come together to pull wood from the waste stream and let it live on for generations to come.
