Reclaimed Wood Projects

The Pink Gazebo

This was a diamond in the extremely rough scavenged from FB Marketplace. It turned out to be antique heart redwood. I still have quite a lot of it on hand, so more projects are definelty in the works.

Completed projects below.

Corbel Basket

The sides are resawn corbels, the slats are resawn posts, and the handle is a spindle.

Trug Basket

The handles are spindles, the sides are from a redwood fence, and the slats are mixed pallet and patio cover wood.

Ceiling Panels

The inset ceiling panels are resawn posts stained with baking soda.

Insect Hotel

Much of the gazebo had termite damage (no living termites). Even the termite damaged wood has a beauty and functionality. These are composed of pallet wood cases, redwood inserts, and topped off with a pine bark roof.

Item Hang Tags

All of my retail-pricing hang tags are cut from gazebo scraps.

Door Parts / Scraps

This is the remnants of some doors I reworked for other projects. It's all beautiful Douglas Fir with some really interesting graining.

This became three cutting boards. Some phases of construction below. These are all finished with mineral oil and a wax made from locally sourced beeswax.

Due to the nature of the material, there are some places where I have inserted dowels or patches to mitigate voids due to the original door construction. These do not efferct the durability of the final product.

Cutting Boards

The first glue-up. Everthing it cut into strips and glued together.

Cutting Boards

Second Glue-up. Strips cut into end-grain rows and glued together again.

Cutting Boards

Finished and ready for your kitchen counter.

Pallets and Patio Cover

More scrounging around on FB Marketplace. This is a mixed pile of a bunch of things including: pallets, tree trunks, pieces of a patio cover, and a bunk bed frame. There is a lot of wood here and it is my go-to pile for random pieces of things, but there are a few projects pulled from this pile.

Garden Obelisk

Patio cover legs, curtain rod finial with bunk bed base, and pallet wood vertical slats.

Boxes and Crates

Mixed sources for these includes bunk bed parts, fencing, and oak and guava wood for handles.
